The musical feud between rap titans Kendrick Lamar and Drake intensified as Lamar unleashed another scathing diss track titled “Not Like Us” on Saturday evening. Lamar’s official YouTube channel served as the platform for this latest salvo, featuring an aerial view of Drake’s Toronto mansion.
Employing a simple keyboard loop and an exaggerated Southern accent, Lamar wastes no time in launching a barrage of personal attacks against Drake. He opens with a whispered “Pssst: I see dead people” before delving into Drake’s controversial comments about dating younger women, accusing him of being a “certified pedophile” – a play on Drake’s 2021 album title.
The lyrics are rife with biting wordplay and punches, including a musical pun: “Why you trollin’ like a bitch, ain’t you tired? Trying to strike a chord, and it’s probably a-minor.”
Lamar also takes aim at Drake’s Atlanta connections, name-dropping rappers like Future, 21 Savage, and Lil Baby, accusing Drake of being a “colonizer” who exploits the city’s talent for financial gain.
The track concludes with Lamar leading a female chorus in chanting “O-vee-ho,” a jab at Drake’s OVO brand, and mocking his hit “Toosie Slide.”
This latest volley follows a rapid escalation of the feud, which began with Lamar’s shots at Drake and J. Cole on “Like That.” Over the past 36 hours alone, Lamar has released two other diss tracks, “6:16 in LA” and “Meet the Grahams,” while Drake responded with “Family Matters.”
As the battle rages on, fans and critics alike eagerly await the next move in this high-stakes rap rivalry.
